If you are planning on enjoying a 5K race in Michigan for the Race the USA Virtual 5k Run Series, you are in luck. Michigan is loaded with unbelievable trails that will take your breath away. From iconic National Parks to trails through big cities, Michigan has it all. And, the best part of a fun run Michigan is that it can be done in all four seasons.
Some of the most beautiful trails in the entire state are near Sleeping Bear Dunes and M-22. This unbelievable highway starts at the southern end just north of Manistee and stretches along the Lake Michigan coast to Northport on Grand Traverse Bay. Some people will find a favorite stretch of this two-lane highway, while others will run in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore along the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail through Glen Arbor and Empire. No matter where you choose to run in this part of Michigan, you will not be disappointed.
Michigan is home to several rails-to-trails scenic routes that are good spots. In the western part of Michigan, the Fred Meijer Trails run through several towns around Grand Rapids. These trails are paved and often have lovely bridges to traverse. In the eastern part of the state, the Detroit River/Dequindre Cut will take you through the city’s renaissance. Another beautiful trail is the Falling Water Trail from Jackson to Concord. This 10.5-mile trail skirts along several river headwaters and lakes, making it a popular trail for people who enjoy 5K run Michigan locations.
No matter where you live or visit in Michigan, there are trails. From Saginaw to Flint, Kalamazoo to Battle Creek, Tawas City to Alpena, and places all over the Upper Peninsula, Michigan is loaded with ideal locations for Race the USA Virtual 5k Run Series. There are so many places to run that it can be overwhelming to choose where to run your 5k fun run in Michigan. And, while you are enjoying the seasons as you help the charity organization Feed the Children.
In short it’s quite simple. Basically you will sign up for your race just like any other race. Only differences is you will choose the state you plan to run your Virtual 5k, Virtual 10k, or 13.1 in. Also when reporting your finishing results make sure you also choose the state you finished in. Once complete we will send out your State themed finisher medal!
